What to Expect
Your Journey with Us
From the moment you arrive, we focus on making you feel at ease. Your initial consultation begins with a thorough discussion of your skin concerns and medical history. Dr Browne takes the time to listen, ensuring every question is answered in a calm, pressure-free environment. We believe in transparency and partnership. Following your assessment, you will receive a personalised care plan tailored specifically to your clinical needs and personal preferences, with all options clearly explained.
Preparation is key to a productive visit. We recommend writing down any questions you may have and bringing a list of current medications. Please avoid wearing makeup or heavy creams on the areas of concern. Should a follow-up or minor surgical procedure be required, our team will guide you through the next steps, providing clear instructions and ongoing support throughout your recovery process.
Surgical Procedures
While many skin conditions are managed with topical or systemic treatments, some concerns require a surgical approach. Dr Rachel Browne provides expert dermatological surgery in a clinical environment focused on patient safety and exceptional results.Â
On the Day of Surgery
Aftercare & Follow-up
Minor skin surgeries are performed under local anaesthetic, meaning you stay awake but the area will be completely numb. Dr Browne will talk you through each step to ensure you feel comfortable. The procedure length varies, but most appointments last between 30 and 60 minutes. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and having a light meal beforehand.
Post-operative care is vital for optimal healing and minimal scarring. You will receive detailed written instructions on wound care, including how to manage dressings and when to resume normal activities. For procedures involving sutures, a follow-up appointment will be arranged for their removal. We will contact you directly once any laboratory results are available to discuss the next steps in your care.
